AIR & WATER PHOTOS PAGE 1
Last weekend marked a milestone in the Luftgekühlt saga as the 9th installment took center stage, and this time, it wasin the little town of San Francisco in the Bay Area—a fitting return to the OG debut show in 2014.
If you missed out on Luft 9, Saturday's lineup, let me tell you, you really missed out on something special. But thats ok, because Sunday brought a whole new dimension to the scene with the debut of Luft's latest act: Air | Water. Luftgekuhlt - AIR & WATER was a bold move by founders Patrick Long and Jeff Zwart, extending the event to a two-day extravaganza—air-cooled on Saturday and a groundbreaking mix of air-cooled and water-cooled on Sunday, broadening the spectrum of Porsches under Luft's spotlight.
Now, I've got to hand it to them; this was a long time coming. No one else has dared to venture into this territory before, and it's a game-changer. It's not just about celebrating the classics anymore; it's about embracing the entirety of Porsche's lineage even Ken Blocks' Hoonigan Hoonipig was there in full effect in a warehouse unto its own! And let me tell you, it's was a sight to behold. From the iconic 911s to the often-overlooked SUVs and crossovers, Luftgekühlt is shedding light on every facet of Porsche's rich history.
Before the show though, I had my reservations. The allure of Luftgekühlt lies in its homage to the old and historical, rooted in Porsche's aviation heritage and air-cooled engines. Yet, as the automotive landscape evolves, so must Luftgekühlt. And the transition to water-cooled cars is a testament to that evolution.
So, where do we go from here? That's the million-dollar question. With Luftgekühlt, you never know what's around the corner. But one thing's for sure: the 10th show celebration is shaping up to be an unmissable event. So mark your calendars, folks. Luftgekühlt is showing no signs of slowing down, and neither should you.
